Citation building and NAP management for service businesses across Chhattisgarh
β Positioning note
We can correct and monitor the listings that carry your business, and we do. What no agency controls is whether a third-party directory keeps our correction live. Where a platform refuses or reverts a change, you hear about it in the monthly report rather than discovering it a year later.
Local citation building is the work of making your business name, address and phone number read identically everywhere they appear online β directories, aggregators, your Google Business Profile and your own website β so search engines read one strong business instead of several weak ones. Shinnynos delivers citation audits, corrections, duplicate cleanup and ongoing NAP monitoring for service businesses across Bhilai, Durg and Raipur, and remotely elsewhere in India. The measurable outcome is a consistent listing footprint, tracked in a citation ledger you keep.
Why inconsistent listings quietly cost you calls
Almost nothing looks broken from inside the business. The phone works. The shop is open. But three different phone numbers are live across Justdial, Sulekha and your own contact page, and there is no way to tell which one customers are dialling β or how many gave up when the first one rang unanswered.
Search engines have the same problem, with worse consequences. When the name, address and phone number disagree across the web, Google cannot confirm which record is authoritative. Instead of one business with a strong signal, it holds two or three partial records that compete with each other. Relevance and prominence both weaken, and no amount of new content repairs it.
In Chhattisgarh this happens for structural reasons, not careless ones. Bhilai is addressed two ways β steel-township sectors under PIN 490001 and civic nagars under 490020 β so the same premises can be verified at a township address on Google Maps and listed at a nagar address on a directory. Hindi business names get romanised differently by different platforms. A listing service created profiles years ago that nobody has access to now. Each of these is ordinary; together they split your identity.
β Diagnostic patterns
The four ways a listing footprint splits
1. Two romanisations of one name
Directories transliterate Hindi names differently. One Bhilai mess was carried as "Sajiya Mess" on Justdial and "Shajiya Mess" on Google Maps β one kitchen, two half-strength records competing with each other for the same customers.
2. Township addressing versus civic nagars
A sector address under PIN 490001 and a nagar address under 490020 describe the same city two ways. A profile verified at one and listed at the other reads as two separate businesses to a search engine trying to match them.
3. Duplicate and orphaned listings
An old listing from a previous owner, a duplicate pin created during a failed verification, or a profile built by a listing service nobody at the business can log into. Each duplicate divides the signal and the reviews that should be pooling in one place.
4. Drift after the cleanup
Listings do not stay corrected on their own. Aggregators re-syndicate stale records, platforms revert edits, and a new number added for a second branch reaches half the directories. Without monitoring, a clean footprint degrades within months.
What this has produced
Shajiya Mess β student tiffin and mess serving Shanti Nagar and Smriti Nagar, Bhilai
In August 2025 the business had roughly one review, no visibility on Google Maps, and its name split between "Sajiya Mess" on Justdial and "Shajiya Mess" on Google Maps, while competing against more than sixty directory-listed rivals. After the name and address were corrected across 62+ citation sources, the Google Business Profile was rebuilt and verified, and a website was launched around its Friday biryani for the halal niche: monthly search appearances rose from 75 in August 2025 to 639 in November, direction requests rose from 32 in August to 77 in December, December search volume reached 539 hits (+334.7% year on year), and call volume rose 250.5% year on year. Measured in the client's own Google Business Profile Insights, August to December 2025.

Janta Garage β car repair, Kondagaon
The garage started with no organic traffic, no reviews and no online enquiries, operating next to a Tata Motors showroom carrying more than 200 reviews and five years of citation history. Over a ten-week build in the fourth quarter of 2025 β NAP alignment across directories, profile verification against utility bills, LocalBusiness and AutomotiveShop schema, dedicated service pages and a QR and NFC review capture system β call volume rose 180% year on year at the October 2025 peak and settled at 75% in November, direction requests stabilised around 55 a month through November and December, and all nine tracked service keywords reached first position, each checked on a search geo-set to Kondagaon. In both engagements citation alignment ran alongside profile and website work, so the listing corrections are one contributing factor rather than the sole cause of the numbers above. Both are records of what happened in one market, against one baseline β not a forecast for your business.
What the citation work covers
The listing audit
We find where your business already appears, which is usually more places than you expect and rarely the places you would choose. Every listing is recorded with the exact name, address, phone number, category and status it currently carries, so the scale of the inconsistency is visible before anything is touched.
One canonical business record
Before corrections start, we agree the exact form of your name, address and phone number β down to the abbreviation, the sector or nagar wording, and the PIN. Every later correction is made against that single record, which is also what your website and your Google Business Profile get aligned to.
Corrections and claiming
We correct the listings we can edit and claim the ones sitting unclaimed, working through the directories that carry weight in India: Justdial, Sulekha, IndiaMart, TradeIndia, Yellow Pages India and the aggregators feeding data behind them. Where a platform requires ownership verification, that verification is part of the work.
Duplicate cleanup
Duplicate pins and orphaned profiles get merged or removed so reviews and signals pool into one record instead of dividing between several. This is the part that most often needs patience: some platforms resolve a merge in days, others take weeks of follow-up.
Aggregator distribution
Correcting a directory that pulls its data from an aggregator only holds until the next sync. Where an aggregator sits upstream of the directories carrying your name, the correction is pushed there too, so the clean record propagates instead of being overwritten.
Alignment with the profile and the website
Your listings, your Google Business Profile and your own site have to agree. Profile-side work β categories, services, posts, reviews β is its own engagement: Google Business Profile optimization. On the website side, a Shinnynos build pulls your business details from one controlled source so the site cannot drift internally as pages are added.
The citation ledger and ongoing monitoring
You get a master ledger of every listing, its login or claim status, and what was changed. From there, monitoring catches drift as it appears β a reverted edit, a re-syndicated old record, a new number that reached only half the directories β and corrections continue as part of the retainer.
How the work runs
β Phase breakdown
From audit to a footprint that stays clean
Phase 1
Audit and baseline
Find every listing carrying your name, record exactly what each one says, and identify the duplicates, the conflicts and the profiles nobody at the business can access.
Phase 2
Set the canonical record
Agree the exact name, address, phone number and PIN, resolved against what your Google Business Profile is verified at, and align the website to the same source.
Phase 3
Correct, claim and clean
Edit what we can edit, claim what is unclaimed, merge or remove duplicates, and push corrections upstream to the aggregators feeding the directories.
Phase 4
Monitor and report
Watch for reverted edits and re-syndicated records, correct drift as it appears, and report what changed each month alongside your profile numbers.
What you get
- A citation audit recording every listing found, with its current name, address, phone number and status
- One agreed canonical business record, used for every correction and for your website and profile
- Corrections and claims across the Indian directories that carry weight in your market
- Duplicate and orphaned listing cleanup, pursued until the platform resolves it or refuses
- Aggregator submissions where an upstream source is feeding stale data downstream
- A master citation ledger, including claim and login status, that stays yours
- NAP monitoring with drift corrected as it appears, on every retainer tier
- Ongoing citation building on the directories that matter in your market, from Local Growth up
Citation work is one part of a full local SEO engagement β listings, the profile, the pages and the reviews move the map pack together, and the pillar page explains how the pieces fit.
Engagement and pricing
Every engagement starts with a paid diagnostic. The free part is a 20-minute fit call, which confirms your market and service area β qualification only, with nothing audited or delivered on it.
The entry point is the Local SEO Snapshot at βΉ15,000, delivered in three business days. It includes a NAP consistency check that shows you how badly your listings actually disagree, alongside a profile audit, your top three keyword gaps, two competitor summaries and a one-page action list.
If that check finds inconsistencies worth fixing, the cleanup is scoped for your specific footprint at the audit debrief β the number of directories, how many listings need claiming rather than editing, and whether an aggregator has to be corrected upstream all change the work involved. Scale varies enough between businesses that a single published price would mislead more often than it helped.
Ongoing work sits inside the retainers. NAP monitoring is included from Local Presence at βΉ22,000 a month; continuing citation building is included from Local Growth at βΉ38,000 a month. Retainers run on a three-month minimum, which is a measurement window rather than a sales term β local ranking changes surface on 60 to 90 day cycles.
We guarantee the work, not the platforms. Corrections submitted, duplicates pursued, listings claimed and drift monitored are what you are buying. Whether a given third-party directory accepts, holds or reverts a change is outside anyone's control β which is exactly why monitoring is part of the service rather than a one-time cleanup.
Is this right for your business?
β Fit check
Is this right for your business?
β Yes β a strong fit
A local service business whose details disagree across the web: different phone numbers on different directories, an old address still live, duplicate pins, or listings created by a service you no longer use. Businesses that have moved premises, changed numbers, rebranded, or been listed under two spellings of the same name. We do not screen on revenue.
β No β not a fit
Online-only and e-commerce businesses with no local presence to list. Anyone wanting volume submissions to hundreds of low-quality directories β that is a spam signal, not a strategy, and we will not build it. And if your listings are already consistent, this is the wrong purchase; the diagnostic will tell you so before you spend on cleanup you do not need.

Where we work
Shinnynos is based in Bhilai and manages listing footprints across the BhilaiβDurgβRaipur corridor, with remote engagements elsewhere in India. The city pages carry the local detail β which directories dominate, and how each city's addressing trips up a listing.
- Bhilai β where township sectors under PIN 490001 and civic nagars under 490020 split one business across two addressing systems: citation building in Bhilai
- Durg β trading and logistics businesses along the GE Road corridor, often carrying legacy IndiaMart and TradeIndia listings: citation building in Durg
- Raipur β capital-city density across Pandri, Telibandha and Naya Raipur, where duplicate listings accumulate fastest: citation building in Raipur
How we do it differently
Below the decision, for the reader who wants the operating detail.
One source for your business identity
On a Shinnynos build, every page pulls your name, address, phone number and email from a single controlled source, so the website cannot contradict itself as it grows. Your listings and your profile are aligned by hand to that same record, because those platforms are Google's and the directories' to own, not ours.
Quality of source, not count of submissions
A listing is worth having when the platform is one customers or search engines actually consult. We work the directories that carry weight in India and the aggregators behind them, rather than reporting a large submission count made up of directories nobody reads.
A ledger you keep
The master citation ledger records every listing, its claim and login status, and what changed. If you end the engagement, that record leaves with you β which is the difference between owning your listing footprint and renting access to it.
Structured data that states the same facts
Your site compiles a Schema.org JSON-LD @graph in which the LocalBusiness node carries the same canonical name, address and phone number as your listings, with geographic entities reconciled to Wikidata where a genuine match exists β Bhilai (Q856230), Durg (Q1283726), Raipur (Q11484). Detail: schema and structured data services.
Honest about what a directory will do
Some platforms accept a correction in a day, some take weeks, and some revert it without explanation. We report what was submitted, what was accepted and what is still outstanding, rather than describing a footprint as clean the moment the forms are filed.
Common questions
What does NAP consistency actually mean?
NAP stands for name, address and phone number. Consistency means those three details appear in exactly the same form everywhere your business is listed β the same spelling, the same abbreviation, the same PIN, the same number. When they disagree, Google cannot tell whether it is looking at one business or several, and the strength that should sit behind one record gets divided.
How many citations does my business need?
There is no target number worth chasing. What matters is that the platforms customers and search engines actually consult carry your details correctly β for a local business in India that usually means Google, Justdial, Sulekha, IndiaMart, TradeIndia and the aggregators behind them, plus whatever is specific to your industry. Volume submissions to hundreds of low-quality directories read as a spam signal, not authority.
Can you fix a listing I do not have the login for?
Usually, yes. Claiming an existing listing is a standard part of the work, and most platforms have an ownership verification route β that is how we handle profiles created years ago by a listing service or a previous owner. Some platforms are slower or more restrictive than others, so the ledger records claim status honestly rather than reporting everything as resolved.
My business moved. Is that why the phone stopped ringing?
It is one of the most common causes we see. A move leaves the old address live on directories that were never updated, so customers get sent to the wrong place and search engines see two conflicting locations for the same business. Corrections have to reach the aggregators as well as the directories, or the stale address reappears at the next sync.
Is citation cleanup a one-time job or ongoing?
The cleanup is a project; staying clean is a habit. Aggregators re-syndicate old records, platforms revert edits, and adding a number or a branch reaches some directories and not others. That is why NAP monitoring is included in every retainer tier rather than sold as a one-time fix β a footprint that is corrected and then ignored degrades within months.
